Sports and food build community and camaraderie.
Rootspective knows we have a tremendous opportunity to use our journalistic and storytelling expertise to connect with fans, towns, schools, restaurants, farms and other partners by sharing their stories about food and football.
Rootspective will celebrate the traditions, food and the fans who have made college football so special. During the 2019 season this journalistic adventure will visit multiple campuses and share these stories through multimedia storytelling & social media to learn about how food and fandom can connect us and have impact within our communities.
College football fans have influence. The top ten brands in the U.S. alone spent over $152 million in advertising during the 2016 college football season (Nielson 2016). Advertising spend increased 23% from 2016 to 2017. The 366 regular season telecasts last year averaged 1.8 million viewers. Home games often have highly positive local economic impact.
